BOARDMAN

BJ’s Brewhouse, the township’s newest restaurant, will open at 11 a.m. Monday.

The restaurant has been in the works since last summer when the California-based company submitted plans to the township zoning department to raze the shuttered Cheddar’s Casual Cafe and build a new restaurant at 7327 Market St. inside Southern Park Mall lot.

Customers will be offered food and beverage specials Monday through Thursday with the restaurant’s Daily Brewhouse Specials. Mondays feature half off large pizzas and $5 margaritas. On Tuesdays, there’s $3 Pizookie desserts and wine is half off. Wednesdays feature $10 loaded burgers and $4 BJ’s handcrafted beers, and Thursdays include $13.95 baby back pork ribs and $5 call drinks.

BJ’s has more than 170 restaurants in 23 states. It first opened in the late 1970s at locations on the Southern California coast. It has seven locations in Ohio.

The Boardman BJ’s will feature the restaurant’s 130-plus-item menu, including its deep-dish pizza and craft beer. The new, 7,500 square-foot location will employ 165.

BJ’s has 11 award-winning signature beers and cider on tap. BJ’s releases more than 10 rotating seasonal beers throughout the year. The company operates six breweries in five states, according to a news release.
