BASEBALL

Boardman 3, Steubenville 2

After a two-run home run by Steubenville (14-3) in the top of the seventh to tie things up, Boardman’s Mike Fetsko singled home Cameron Kreps for a walk-off win. Noah Land pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up three hits and striking out seven for the Spartans (8-8). Fetsko, Stauffer and Luke Cardillo each had two hits in the win.

Ursuline 10, Springfield 0

Josh Scheetz went 3 for 3 with three RBIs win a five-inning win for Ursuline (4-11). Jake Freisen went 3 for 3 as well with a double and an RBI. Vince Armeni went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs as well. Brannon Brungard had two hits for Springfield (5-7).

Champion 8, Struthers 4

A four-run third inning vaulted Champion to victory. The Champion offense was led by Drake Batcho, who had three hits and two RBIs. Struthers was led by Kevin Caldwell with two hits.

Western Reserve 9, East Palestine 6

Trailing 5-1 halfway through, the Blue Devils (11-2, 5-1 ITCL Blue) racked up four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to complete the comeback. Wyatt Larimer went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored while Karl Klockenga went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Marshall Huddleston went 2 for3 with a run scored for East Palestine.

Minerva 3, West Branch 2

Brent Alazaus struck out five batters in a losing effort for West Branch (12-4). T.J, DeShields had a hit and a run for the Warriors.

Canfield 5, East Rutherford (N.C.) 2

Ian McGraw struck fanned six batters in six innings to give the Cardinals (8-2) the win in Myrtle Beach. Dominic Pilolli had two hits, including a double. Angelo Petracci also had a double and drove in a run. Anthony Vross had two RBIs.

Lisbon 12, Lowellville 1

David Toot, Logan Bell, Cameron Summers and Michael French each had two hits and the Blue Devils used a seven-run fourth inning to turn their victory into a five-inning rout. Pitchers Justin Sweeney, French and Josh Entrikin combined on a four-hitter.

SOFTBALL

Canfield 5, Ocean City (N.J.) 1

Kalli Gross went six innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five in the win. Jenna Gibson had a double for the Cardinals.

South Range 8, Spring Mills (W.Va.) 7 9 innings

Madison Weaver had three hits and three RBIs in South Range’s win. Codi Taylor had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs while Hope Thomas had two hits and Felicia Gaeta smacked a double. Megan Rossero picked up the win for the Raiders (8-3), striking out two in three innings.

Western Reserve 6, East Palestine 4

Layla Woolf was a triple short of the cycle, blasting a three-run homer and racking up four RBIs in a win for the Blue Devils (6-3, 4-2 ITCL). Woolf also pitched all seven innings, striking out eight. Haleigh Platt had two hits and an RBI while Bobbi Berhard also had two hits for Western Reserve. Taylor Hostetter had a double and two RBIs for East Palestine.

Louisville 9, Salem 0

Kirsten Wharmby struck out seven for Louisville. Peyton McKeever and Rylee Squire each scored three runs for the Leopords.

Columbiana 16, Howland 1

Marissa McDonough pitch all five innings, striking out six and walking none. Kennedy Fullum led the Clippers (13-0) with two doubles, a single and five RBIs. Taylor Ross added two hits and two RBIs. Morgan Highly had two hits and drove in a run. Morgan Miller had a double for Howland. Reann Litz added a single and drove in a run.

Lisbon 13, Lowellville 7

The Blue Devils tallied 14 hits, including three from Hannah Deland and Autumn Oehlstrom. Oehlstrom also scored twice and drove in five runs. Deland drove in one. Kenedy Vrable, Devyn Flory and Lindsi Welsh all had two hits. Flory had three RBIs. Sam Tinsley got the win in seven innings with six strikeouts. The Rockets did scatter 13 hits. Olivia Satlar and Hannah Johnston each had three, while combining for three RBIs. Isabella Satler and Jessica Johnston each had two hits.

Cardinal Mooney 21, St. Thomas Aquinas 0

Kayla Rutherford struck out nine batters in a five-inning game as Mooney (6-2) dominated Aquinas. Bridget Sweeney homered, Conchetta Rinaldi tripled and Jordan McLay, Brooke Chandler, Adrianna Popovich and Rutherford each doubled.

Champion 16, Struthers 0

Allison Smith struck out 14 batters to improve to 4-0. She also had two hits, including a home run and four RBIs. Champion collected 11 hits, including a grand slam from Molly Williams in the first inning. Carli Swipas added three hits and two RBIs. McKenzie Zigmont had two hits with three RBIs and Megan Turner hit a double.

Mathews 10, Lordstown 0

Nicole Watts struck out six in four innings in a five-inning win over Lordstown (5-5). Noel Miglizzi had three hits and three RBIs while Bailey Hall and Matlin Simon each tripled for Mathews (11-1). Mackenzi Graham had two RBIs. Emily Derkach had two hits while Paige Sponsler and Ailvia Outlen each doubled.
