Miss DeFuria, Mr. Merrick are engaged

Liana DeFuria and David Merrick, both of Cranberry Township, Pa., are planning to be married May 27 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown. Invitations will be issued.

Miss DeFuria is a daughter of Dennis DeFuria and Lisa Pupino, both of Canfield.

Dwayne and Vicki Merrick of Diamond are parents of the future groom.

The bride-elect graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned her doctor of physical therapy degree from Duquesne University.

Her fiance earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Westminster and a master’s of education in clinical mental health counseling from Youngstown State University.
