Families spent a sweet Saturday together with the Easter Bunny at the Cornersburg Dairy Queen on April 8.
Owners Raymond and Christine Smith host annual holiday events at their Dairy Queen locations for families to come and enjoy. The Easter event has been an annual tradition for around 10 years.
“It depends on the weather and today’s a beautiful day. It was really crazy at 11 when it began,” said Christine Smith about the amount of people who attend.
The Easter Bunny was there for children to take a picture with. Those who decided to take a picture were able to pick up the developed picture later in the week from Dairy Queen.
Every child who came that was under the age of 9 received candy-filled eggs. There were three stations the children could visit to get an egg and other treats. Children could decorate an egg the “DQ Way,” which were DQ cupcakes the children could decorate using gels, sprinkles and icing.
The station most of the guests flocked to was the grass area where there were live bunnies. Most of the bunnies were in the cage except for the ones the employees had out for people to pet. There were several bunnies to children could look at and pet.
The Easter event gives families an opportunity to spend time together in a fun environment. The Smiths also own the Austintown and Canfield Dairy Queen which also hosted an Easter event in the evening of April 8 and again on April 9.
