Neighbors | Abby Slanker.The Canfield Village Middle School Competition Robotics Team competed in the 20th annual Northeast Ohio Robotics Education Program at Youngstown State University March 8, placing second overall. Team members included, Morgan Prather, Madison Zets, Anthony Meranto, Paige Christoff, Chloe Hudock, David Schmidt, Delaney Pallo, John Heino and Danny Earley.

The Canfield Village Middle School Competition Robotics team competed in the 20th annual Northeast Ohio Robotics Education Program at Youngstown State University on March 8. Eleven middle school teams from Northeast Ohio competed in the program.
The competitive events were made up of five areas, including researching the topic The Science of Speed, which required the students to write about their findings and keep an engineering journal regarding their project. The second area was designing the Lego robot, with the third area requiring the students to prepare a speech about how the CVMS team developed their racing bots to perform in the games. The fourth area required the students to race the Lego robots around an oval track in a NASCAR style race, and the fifth area required the students to race the Lego robot by following the curving line in a Grand Prix Style race.
The Canfield Village Middle School Competition Robotics team received second place in the oval track race, second place in the curved line race and placed second, overall, for all of the events.
Competition team members included Morgan Prather, Madison Zets, Anthony Meranto, Paige Christoff, Chloe Hudock, David Schmidt, Delaney Pallo, John Heino and Danny Earley.
The team is coached by Canfield Local Schools robotics teacher Steve Bennett.
