Route 46 closing

CANFIELD

Beginning Friday evening, state Route 46 just south of Western Reserve Road will be closed through mid-May for a culvert replacement.

The detour will be U.S. Route 62 to state Route 165. This work is part of a $2.4 million project to resurface state Route 46 between the Columbiana County line and the southern Canfield city limit. This project also includes two culvert replacements. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early September.

‘It Takes the Cake’

WARREN

The Sutliff Museum, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, has opened a new exhibit, “It Takes the Cake: Vintage Wedding Cake Toppers from 1913 to 1945.” The museum, operated by The Warren Library Association, is free and handicapped-accessible. It is open from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Selling books, bling

POLAND

Poland United Methodist Women will host Books, Bags, Bling and Brunch from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road. Books are available for all ages. The sale will feature tote bags, handbags and clutch bags. Bling will include necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and more. The proceeds will go to benefit missions.

Scouts’ fundraiser

BOARDMAN

The public is invited to Whispering Pines District Great Trail Council Boy Scouts 12th annual Celebration of Scouting breakfast fundraiser April 25 at Holiday Inn-Boardman. Doors will open at 7 a.m.; breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8 a.m., and the program will end at 9 a.m.

This year’s speakers are Greg Smith, Artemus “Art” Scissum and Victor DiTommaso.
