MCCTC students to attend conference

Top students from Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will attend the Business Professionals of America 2017 National Leadership Conference “Spread Your Wings” May 10-14 in Orlando, Fla.

MCCTC chapter members Dylan Mills, Ethan Edwards, Kyle Mamounis, Marty Pavalko, Jayden Goddard, Nathan Davis and Logan Micheals, along with their instructor Helen Slack, will join more than 6,000 other delegates from across the nation to participate in national-level business-skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.

Service-dog donation

NEW MIDDLETOWN

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the New Middletown Lions Club is donating $2,500 toward a service dog for the Singleton family of South Range whose son, David, 12, suffers from autism. David also has epilepsy and a heart defect and has had eye surgeries.

The presentation is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St. Total cost of a service dog is about $20,000.
