Safety Council to host awards luncheon

Columbiana Area Safety Council will host its annual awards luncheon April 26 at Das Dutch Village Inn Banquet Center, state Route 14.

Sarah Morrison, CEO of Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, will be the guest speaker.

The BWC serves more than 250,000 employers.

Before working for the state, Morrison worked as a lawyer, specializing in civil and commercial and complex litigation, and class actions.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ohio State University, and a law degree from Capital University Law School.

She was named an Ohio Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine, and was a recipient of the “40 under 40” award from Columbus Business First in 2005.
