Harry Connick Jr., the Grammy and Emmy award-winning entertainer, will sing the National Anthem at this year’s Kentucky Derby, which will take place May 6 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Here are the past five Anthem singers:

“The White Princess” (8 p.m., Starz): All hail “The White Princess.” This new drama series, full of sumptuous costumes and gorgeous scenery, is a sequel to “The White Queen” and charts a turbulent time in British history from the viewpoint of the women waging a battle for the English throne.

“Stayin’ Alive: A GRAMMY SALUTE TO THE MUSIC OF THE BEE GEES” (8 P.M., CBS): This special celebrates the vast music catalog of the brotherly trio. Performers include, among others, Celine Dion, Nick Jonas, Tori Kelly, Little Big Town, Demi Lovato, Pentatonix, Ed Sheeran, Keith Urban, John Legend and Stevie Wonder.

“Girls” (10 p.m., HBO): After six seasons, “Girls” brings its funny and occasionally controversial run to a close. And it looks like a pregnant Hannah is set to embark on a new chapter of her life – away from New York.

Comic expo adds other art forms

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Independent Comic Expo, or Yo-Ice for short, has changed its name to the Youngstown Independent Creators Expo. The show is now open to all independent art creators – including comic books, visual arts, music, zines, photography and poetry – but the emphasis will still be on graphic novels.

The expo will take place Sept. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will include panel discussions by comic-book artists. A local band is being sought to sell its music and play a half-hour set at the end of the expo. For information and a vendor contract, email Rivera1082@gmail.com.

Graduating YSU art students show work

YOUNGSTOWN

The Spring Graduating BFA Exhibition, which features work by Youngstown State University students completing the bachelor of fine arts degree, will open Friday at the McDonough Museum of Art with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m., and run through May 5.

The exhibition celebrates the work of these students: Melina Bairamis, Meg Bell, Shannon Black, Jamie Bogdan, Deanna Cameneti, Mara Clark, Madelyn DeCesare, Tiffany Fiedler, Anne Flood, Kerrianne M. Riley, Marisa Rothbauer, Tiffany Marie Simone, Rebecca Stafford, Mackenzie Sturtz, William Sutak, Alexzandria Traficant, Stacy Tucker and Alexa Zackasee.

Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
