Shelton-Umbel wedding will be May 27

Amy Shelton and Benjamin Umbel of Greenville, S.C., are engaged and plan to be married May 27. The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. Ben and Mimi Shelton of Olin, N.C. The prospective groom is the son of David and Diane Umbel of Poland.

The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the Shelton Family Farm in Olin with the reception following. Another reception is set for June 17 in Youngstown. Invitations will be issued for the events.

Miss Shelton graduated from East Carolina University, and received a master’s degree in physician-assistant studies from Medical University of South Carolina. She is a certified physician’s assistant in plastic surgery.

Mr. Umbel graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University, and plans to complete his doctor of medicine degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in May. In June, the couple plan to move to Columbus where Mr. Umbel will begin his residency as an orthopedic surgeon at Doctors Hospital.
