Music, message at Easter
YOUNGSTOWN
The Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., invites the public to join its Easter Sunday service at 10:45 a.m. Music will be provided by the gospel band, and traditional and gospel songs will be sung by the congregation.
Steve Vivod will provide the special singing. Pastor Jonathan Mitchell will preach the Easter message.
Spring revival planned
CAMPBELL
Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 10th St., will have a spring revival 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday through Friday.
Various choirs will perform, and the Rev. James Bowie will be the speaker.
Youngstown Chamber Music commemorative program scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN
Youngstown Chamber Music presents a program commemorating Yom HaShoah.
This event will feature music from composers affected by the Holocaust of World War II, both Jewish and non-Jewish.
The 2 1/2-hour event will begin at noon Thursday at the Jewish Community Center’s multipurpose room, 505 Gypsy Lane.
It is free admission for center members. The cost for nonmembers is $5.

Deadline nears for May silent retreat

GodQuest Christian Silent Retreat will take place May 22-24 at Casowasco Retreat Center, 158 Casowasco Road.
GodQuest offers a time to be alone with God for an extended time to devote oneself to prayer, journaling, scripture, nature and quiet reflection.
The program includes group worship, spiritual direction and written helps. Men and women retreats are run simultaneously, but programs are separate.
The cost is $195, for two nights, private room with six meals and program. The registration deadline is Thursday.

ACTION to host annual fundraiser, banquet
YOUNGSTOWN
The faith-based community organizing group Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods will host its 15th annual community fundraiser and banquet at 5 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Social Hall, 243 Via Mt. Carmel Ave.
The event will feature state Sen. Joseph Schiavoni, who will speak on the theme “A Season of Change: Respect for All!”
During the banquet, institutions and individuals will be recognized for outstanding contributions to the community.
Funds raised will help to underwrite ACTION’s key initiatives to enhance the quality of life for residents of the Mahoning Valley.

Church to host author, biologist, engineer
VIENNA
Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 291 Scoville Drive, will host biologist Pamela Acker, aerospace engineer Eric Bermingham and author Hugh Owen of the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation. They will present a seminar titled “Creation, Evolution and the Crisis of Faith.”
The seminar will demonstrate that the restoration of the traditional Catholic doctrine of creation is essential to the restoration of the faith and the establishment of a culture of life throughout the world.
The seminar will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, 7 to 9 p.m. next Saturday and 5 to 7 p.m. April 23. There is no charge for the seminar but donations will be accepted. F

Book of Revelation presentation planned

Father John Jerek will present on the Book of Revelation from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 24, May 1, 8, 15 and 22, at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road. The course will help participants learn more about the early church community, strengthen their own faith and discover lessons that can be applied to ministry in the church today.

Women’s group sponsors weekend retreat
SANDY LAKE, Pa.
The Christian Women’s Outreach of Mercer County is sponsoring a retreat Friday and next Saturday at McKeever Environmental Learning Center, state Route 358. An overnight stay is optional.
The retreat begins with registration at 4:30 p.m. Friday and ends at the conclusion of the 2 p.m. session next Saturday.
Guest speakers are Brandy Palmiero and Pastor Janet Pratt.
