BASEBALL

Canfield 7, Edgewood 0

Dominic Pilolli had two RBIs and a double to lead Canfield (6-1). Richie Juliano added two hits and an RBI, and Nick Piersante had two hits and an RBI.

Boardman 9, Inspiration Academy (Fla.) 1

Noah Land went four innings for the Spartans to pick up his second win in Florida. Alex Cordona and Dylan Gurski also pitched scoreless in relief. Dom Stilliana singled, doubled and drove in two runs. Boardman scattered eight hits.

Niles 9, Howland 0

Marco DeFalco led the Niles offense with three hits and two runs scored. DeFalco also got the win on the mound, pitching a complete game and striking out 11 batters while walking just one. Tyler Srbinovich had two hits and three RBIs and scored two runs for the Dragons.

Columbiana 8, Girard 1

Jake Clark struck out nine to earn the win for the Clippers. Chase Franken collected three hits for two RBIs. Tim Davin and Seth Ross each hit a double for the winning side. Aiden Warga had two hits for Girard.

South Range 21, Heritage Christian 5

Brycen James hit two doubles and Randy Skripac added another for the Raiders (6-2). Jack Bajerski and Anthony Ritter each had three hits. Seven different South Range players had two RBIs.

Jackson-Milton, 10 East Palestine 2

Winning pitcher Zack Lane (1-0) scattered nine hits, struck out one batter and walked two for the Bluejays (8-1). Eric Ostrowski’s three hits included a double. He scored twice and drove in two runs. Lane also had three hits, scored twice and drove home two runners. For the Bulldogs (4-4), M. Huddleston and J. Fristik had hits.

Western Reserve 12, Mineral Ridge 1

R. Demsky and M. Burcaw led the Blue Devils offense. They both went 2-3 at the plate and scattered two hits each. D. Smith went 2-2 with two RBIs and scored twice. Mineral Ridge collected three hits. J. Carfolo, T. Squiric and C. Watkins all had one.

Lisbon 13, Sebring 2

Lisbon recorded 11 hits, including three from Colin Sweeney. D. Toot and M. Nenichka each had two hits. Sweeney and Toot drove in three runs apiece for the Blue Devils.

Mathews 1, Leetonia 0

Daniel Carter scored the winning run in the bottom of the fifth off a wild pitch. Jackson Iceman gave up just two hits while getting the complete-game victory.

SOFTBALL

Champion 17, Campbell 0

Sophie Howell (2-0) fired a five-inning perfect game, striking out six and walking none for the Golden Flashes (9-0, 6-0) AAC Blue). Molly Williams’ three hits drove in two runs. Allison Smith, Jackie Mulvain and Carli Swipas each had two hits. Williams, McKenzie Zigmont and Swipas each doubled while Smith homered. Mulvain and Swipas each had two RBIs.

Columbiana 14, Struthers 0

Columbiana (9-0) won in five innings. Alexis Cross hit a double and a triple for four RBIs. Morgan Highley had three RBIs on two hits and a double. Taylor Ross had three hits for the winning side.

Western Reserve 11, Mineral Ridge 10

Gracie Wayland’s three hits drove in three runs for the Blue Devils (5-1). Layla Woolf tripled and doubled to drive in two runs while Emma Dunlap had two hits and one RBI. For the Rams, Riley Ladd’s two hits included a grand slam.

East Palestine 7, Jackson-Milton 4

East Palestine piled up seven runs without an extra base hit or somebody collecting more than one hit. Sara Buskirk went 1-for-4 with three RBIs for the Bulldogs. Sierra Pierce hit a home run for the BlueJays, who made five errors. She threw six innings, giving up one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out four. Jade McBride picked up the win for East Palestine.

McDonald 15, Southern 1

C. Titus went all five innings, giving up one run and three hits and striking out six. Olivia Sanson and M. Ward each had two hits. H. Donkers drove in three runs. Sanson, Titus, K. Kelly and R. Ward all had two RBIs.

Marlington 6, Salem 2

Ellie Smith had nine strike outs and no walks for Marlington. Bailee Thorn doubled twice and scored both of Salem’s (3-7) runs.
