Multiple drug charges

Michael Forgach, 41, of Wildwood Drive was arrested Wednesday on charges of permitting drug abuse, possession of drug-abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of drug possession after police raided his home.
A search of the house at 120 Wildwood turned up crack pipes, a digital scale, $115 in cash, plastic baggies, hypodermic needles and other drug-related items, police said. Police also found substances that tested positive for cocaine and heroin.
According to a police report, Forgach told police that another person at the house had been selling drugs from the location.
Church disrupted, kids threatened
CAMPBELL
A man was arraigned Thursday in Campbell Municipal Court after police say he disrupted a Bible study meeting and made threats.
George Chalfant, 20, of Campbell faces misdemeanor charges of disrupting a lawful meeting, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, criminal trespass and obstructing official business.
Police responded Tuesday evening to a report of a masked man who ran into the Jehovah’s Church of God on Reed Avenue and then ran out. Officers reported chasing Chalfant as he ran away on foot. Children later told police Chalfant had threatened to burn down their house if they “narc-ed” on him. Chalfant’s court-appointed attorney, Andrea Burton, could not be reached for comment Thursday. Chalfant will appear in court May 2 for a pretrial hearing.
St. Rose registration
GIRARD
St. Rose School, 61 E. Main St., is accepting registration for kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2017-2018 school year. A $50 registration fee is required. For information, call the school office at 330-545-1163. For students entering first- through eighth-grade, call the school office to set up a day when they could spend a day with the class they would be entering. The school is an Ohio Education Choice Scholarship, voucher, and Ohio Income Based Scholarship participating school. The school offers busing from Girard, Hubbard, Liberty, Mathews, McDonald, Niles and Youngstown. Kindergarten screening is scheduled for May 19.
Attorney arrested
YOUNGSTOWN
An attorney who was indicted in March on theft charges was arrested by Mahoning County deputy sheriff after he skipped a court date in common pleas court this week.
Ben Joltin, 43, was booked into the jail Thursday, then released later in the day after posting bond, according to jail records.
Joltin was suspended from practicing law for two years by the state Supreme Court in December because of complaints over three cases he previously handled.
Ridge Road closing
FOWLER
Effective from Tuesday to April 28, Ridge Road between Fowler Ridge Road and Everett Cortland Hull Road will be closed for culvert replacement. The recommended detour route is east on state Route 305, north on state Route 193, and west on Everett Cortland Hull Road.
