Austintown Fitch Drama Club performed their annual Spring Musical on March 31 and April 1 at Austintown Fitch High School.
This year, the Drama Club presented “Into the Woods” to the guests that filled the auditorium. This year’s performance was dedicated to Ray “Flash” Gordon who recently passed away. Gordon was a member of the custodial family at Fitch High School for several years. Gordon was an avid fan and supporter of the Fine and Performing arts.
“In the Woods” is a 2014 musical fantasy film that takes plots from classic fairy tale stories by Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault and intertwines them into one story. Directors Bill Klein and Marissa Platton worked hard with the Drama Club students on and off set to make the performance a success. Thanks were given to Fitch Art Club and Adam Leskanic and Irene Flowers for helping with costumes and the set. There was live music provided by an orchestra to go along with the play.
There were more than 50 Austintown Fitch students who made up the cast and crew for the musical. It took the help from all 50 students and other people who volunteered their time to get the props and costumes ready to go for the show.
Tickets were being sold at the door for $6 for adults, $4 for students and free for senior citizens and veterans. All of the money raised will benefit the Fitch Drama Club for the future performances they put on.
