Neighbors | Abby Slanker.In a Canfield tradition, state qualified wrestlers Anthony D'Alesio, Georgio Poullas, David Crawford, Dominic Cooper, Tyler Stein and Mason Giordano were honored by and wished good luck by their classmates, faculty, staff and family members at a walk-through at the high school on March 8.

Six members of the Canfield High School wrestling team qualified for the state wrestling competition in Columbus. Team members included Anthony D’Alesio, returning state champion Georgio Poullas, David Crawford, Dominic Cooper, Tyler Stein and Mason Giordano.
In a Canfield tradition, the wrestlers were honored by and wished good luck by their classmates, faculty, staff and family members at a walk-through at the high school, while also joined by the Canfield Cardinal on March 8.
Anthony D’Alesio qualified for the 152 pound weight class. He is a middle school state champion, Brecksville Holiday Tournament placer, Bill Dies Memorial placer, Sectional champion and placed third in the District Tournament.
Georgio Poullas will compete in the 160 pound weight class and is the returning state champion. Poullas is also the Ironman Tournament champion, three-time state place winner, four-time EOWL champion, three-time Sectional champion, three-time District champion, two-time Brecksville Holiday Tournament champion and is ranked sixth in the nation.
David Crawford will compete in the 170 pound weight class. Crawford is a two time state place winner, Brecksville Holiday Tournament place winner, Bill Dies Memorial runner up, EOWL champion, Sectional champion and District champion.
Dominic Cooper qualified in the 182 pound weight class and is a returning state place winner. He is also a EOWL runner up, Sectional champion, District runner up, Brecksville Holiday Tournament place winner and Bill Dies runner up.
Tyler Stein will compete in the 195 pound weight class. Stein is also a Bill Dies Memorial runner up, EOWL place winner, Sectional champion and District runner up.
Mason Giordano will compete in the 285 pound weight class and is a returning state qualifier. He is also a Brecksville Holiday Tournament place winner, Bill Dies Memorial runner up, EOWL runner up, Sectional runner up and District runner up.
The Canfield High School wrestling team is coached by Head Coach Dean Conley, Derick Fletcher, Rich Donadee, Randy Langham, Jim Hideg, Steve Pitts and Steve Demaiolo.
