Fla. man charged in mall death

YOUNGSTOWN

Matthew Wilson, 23, of Florida, was arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on a charge of vehicular homicide in connection with a crash outside the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall last November in which Judy Dailey, 65, of Berlin Center, was killed.

It was reported by 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, that Wilson had a seizure while driving a pickup truck, causing him to strike Dailey as she was walking to her car Nov. 29, 2016. Law-enforcement officials said Wilson was charged because he was driving after he willingly stopped taking medication for a condition that makes him prone to seizures.

Wilson appeared in a Portage County court last week where he pleaded guilty to an OVI charge.
