Ursuline 17, Struthers 4
Vince Armeni had two hits and six RBIs for the Irish. Dan Leslie drove in three runs and scored twice. Colgan Knox scored three runs while Bobby Cavalier, Dan Leslie, Josh Schetetz, Colin Balas, Jimmy Kerrigan and winning pitcher Jeremy Kreuzweiser each scored two runs.
Poland 1, Howland 0
Dan Klase went the distance for Poland, striking out six, walking two and allowing just two hits in the complete game shutout. Klase also had the RBI single to bring home Padraig O’Shaughnessy for the winning run. Howland pitcher Michael Massucci struck out seven and walked none in his six innings of work.
IMG Academy 4-3, Boardman 2-2
Bobby Mackonell’s two hits included a triple for the Spartans in the first game in Bradenton, Fla. In the second game, Coleman Stauffer tripled and Gaven Strines had two hits for Boardman.
LaBrae 24, East 0
A 13-run fourth inning was more than enough for the Vikings. The Panthers committed 10 errors. Zak Keller went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored while Malakai Roberts went 3-for-3 with five runs scored. J.T. Wolke went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tyler Morris went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Dante Hurst Jr. had the lone hit for East.
Brookfield 3, Girard 1
Hunter Sheehan pitched seven innings for Brookfield, striking out nine. Nick DeGregory also struck out nine for Girard in his five innings of work.
Niles 8, Lakeside 1
Tre Martin had two hits along with Tyler Srbinovich, Damion Coleman and Joseph Gallo. Gallo also had three RBIs for Niles.
Newton Falls 8, Liberty 2
Jordan Edmonson and David Hukari both had three runs for Newton Falls. Shane Welevey and Mike Everly had two runs for Liberty.
Jackson-Milton 4, McDonald 1
Eric Ostrowski was dominant for the Bluejays (6-1, 3-0 Inter-Tri County League Blue) striking out 12 and walking none in the win. Noah Laster hit a two-run home run while Zak Lane and Jon Voland each tripled in the win. Scott Mitchell also doubled for Jackson-Milton.
South Range 7, West Branch 4
Dan Ritter pitched six innings, striking out five and walking none for South Range (4-2). Ritter and Randy Skripac each had two hits in the win. Jon Snyder had two hits for West Branch while also pitching five innings and striking out five for the Warriors (6-2, 3-0).
Lisbon 18, Leetonia 0
An 11-run first inning blew this game open early. Marcus Nenichka and Noah Barnes combined for a five-inning no-hitter. Cameron Summers went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Justin Sweeney went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored while his cousin Colin went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Springfield 6, United 0
Russ Seymour pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11 over six innings for the Tigers. Steve Ranelli worked a scoreless seventh with a strikeout to preserve the shutout. Parker Hydrick had the only hit for the Golden Eagles (0-5). Brandon Walters had two hits for the Tigers (2-3).
Western Reserve 11, Mineral Ridge 0
Wyatt Larimer pitched five innings and had 10 strikeouts improving to 3-0. HE also had two hits and two runs for Western Reserve.
Crestview 11, East Palestine 4
Dylan Dickey (3-0) pitched a complete game for the win. Ty Fitzsimmons, Caleb Hill, Tyler Hurd and Peyton Wolfe each had key hits for the Rebels. Dylan Ball contributed with a sacrifice and a double late in the game.
Columbiana 10, Wellsville 1
Chase Franken (3-0) tossed three shutout innings for the Clippers (6-0, 3-0 ITCL White). Connor Stacey’s three hits included a double and he drove in two runs. Mitch Davidson tripled while Kennan Green and Zach Fahs each doubled. The Tigers are 2-3, 2-1.
Newton Falls 12, Windham 2
Newton Falls scored eight runs in the top of the seventh in Saturday’s game. Adam Honeycutt went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored while David Hukari went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Leadoff hitter Dylan McAvoy went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored as well. Relief pitcher Hayden Sherwood went five innings, allowing three hits and striking out four in the process.
SOFTBALL
Cardinal Mooney 12, Western Reserve Academy 2
Winning pitcher Kayla Rutherford tossed a three-hitter, striking out eight and walking one. Adrianna Popovich doubled and drove in three runs. Kelly Williams, Conchetta Rinaldi and Kayla Rutherford each had two hits for the Cardinals (4-0).
Austintown Fitch 7, Berea (S.C.) 3
Winning pitcher Ashley Fuller struck out six batters at the Grand Strand Classic in South Carolina. Kayla Kelty’s three hits included a triple and Makenzie Luknis’ three hits included a triple and double. Lainie Simons hit a RBI double and Julia McMenamin had two hits. Kacie Roth tripled.
Akron SVSM 2, Ursuline 1, 8 innings
Katie Minzer had four hits for SVSM (5-2) and Alexa Difeo struck out nine and walked one. A. Johnson tripled. For Ursuline (6-3), Emma Ericson had four hits and Jordyn Kenneally (4-1) struck out six batters and walked one.
Poland 16, Howland 6
Amanda Wire went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and six RBIs to pace the Poland offense while Sarah Boccieri had four RBIs. Audrey Schweers also went 3-for-3 and Lauren Sienkiewicz went 2-for-3 in the win. Brooke Bobbey gave up two earned runs in her five innings pitching for Poland. Leah Pollifrone and Sara Price each had two hits and two RBIs for Howland.
Canfield 12, Warren Harding 1
Bridget Durkin struck out seven in five innings while giving up two hits. Ally Sammarco had three hits, including a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Jenna Gibson and Kaili Gross each had two hits in the win.
Lakeview 9, Edgewood 4
Cait Kelm got the win by throwing 15 strikeouts. Avery Steiner had four hits with Tori Wells and Marissa Zoccali each had two hits. Gabby McNeil did everything for Edgewood. She threw six strikeouts, had a double and had two other hits.
Hubbard 5, Jefferson 1
Addy Jarvis earned the win, striking out 10 and allowing one run on three hits. Mikayla Smith, Morgan Kist, and Lea Munnell had multiple hits for Hubbard.
Brookfield 9, Girard 6
Kenzie Drapola had two home runs and Lauren Pesa had a solo shot home run for Brookfield. Samantha Dohy had multiple hits and a home run for Girard.
Champion 16, Campbell 0
Allison Smith hit three home runs at her first three at-bats to lead Champion. Molly Williams chipped in with five RBI’s.
South Range 13, Massillion 4
Carrigyn Yanek pitched seven innings and had eight strikeouts in the win. Codi Taylor had four singles and three RBI’s, Madison Taylor also had three RBI’s for South Range.
McDonald 7, Jackson Milton 0
Cheyenne Titus pitched seven innings with 12 strikeouts and only allowing three hits. Megan Ward had three runs and an RBI for McDonald.
Columbiana 8 Wellsville 0
Marissa McDonough struck out 14 and walked none in the shutout for the Clippers (7-0). Gillian Stilson, Kennedy Fullum and Morgan Highley all doubled for Columbiana while Emily Gosselin tripled.
Lowellville 18, Sebring 0
Isabella Sotlar struck out nine in four innings of work in a blowout win for Lowellville (1-3, 1-2 ITCL Blue). The Rockets scored their 18 runs on just nine hits. Hannah Johnston and Olivia Sotlar each had three hits. Johnston had two doubles, a triple and three RBIs while Olivia Sotlar had a double and two RBIs.
United 2, Springfield 0
Anna Patterson pitched a one-hitter and struck out 16 for the Golden Eagles. Patterson had three of United’s four hits. Two were doubles. MacKenzie Steele had an RBI double. Springfield’s Josie Applegarth scattered four hits and struck out nine. Nikki Bovo had the Tigers’ only hit.
Western Reserve 22, Mineral Ridge 2
The Blue Devils scored at least twice in all five innings and took advantage of 13 errors. Mineral Ridge’s Riley Ladd hit a two-run home run.
Lisbon 15, Leetonia 4
Chloe Smith drove in three runs while L. Welsh had three hits and two RBIs for the Blue Devils. K. Vrable had four hits, scored three runs and drove in two. Karlee Pezzano had two hits while D. Flory drove in two runs.
Salem 9, Southern 5
Winning pitcher Clara Janofa’s two hits included a double and she drove in three runs for the Quakers. She struck out eight wand walked none. Hayden Carner, Bailee Thorn and Katie Moore all had two hits. For the Indians, E. Boyle had two singles, two stolen bases and two runs scored. L. Willis had two singles.
Crestview 7, East Palestine 3
Trinity Boston went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs while Mackenzie Daub had two RBIs and two runs scored as well. Jenn Rhodes went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Bulldogs while Sadie Walker and Delaney Early each had two hits in the loss.
