Cardinal Mooney High School will host its 14th annual fundraising auction April 29 at the school, 2545 Erie St., Youngstown. The event takes place from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Cocktails and silent auction begin at 5 with dinner at 7. Tickets are available by calling the school at 330-788-5007 or online through the auction link on www.cardinalmooney.com. Individual tickets are $75 and include dinner and open bar. Reservations are due Saturday. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Mooney: Embracing Our Past, Highlighting Our Present and Building a Bright Future.” As part of the celebration, Mooney will be honoring Diane Mastro Nard, honorary chairman and former CMHS teacher and speech coach. Highlights will include online bidding before the event through bipal.net. Additional features are a 50-50 raffle, silent and basket auctions. Auction items include dinner for six with the Bishop, autographed sports memorabilia, fine jewelry, travel packages, Mooney paraphernalia, and more. Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph the Provider Cultural Society, will sponsor its annual basket auction April 23 at 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the auction starts at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of tickets, a bowl of haluski and a cookie.

St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor its third quarter auction April 28. The event is for adults (21 and older). Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7. Tickets are $10 and include admission and a bidding paddle. There also will be 50-50 and lottery tree raffles. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. St. Joseph the Provider School will host its annual basket and gift auction with a buffet dinner April 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and buffet begins at 6:30, and includes baked Italian chicken, cavatelli and meatballs, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, roasted Idaho and sweet potatoes, Italian blend vegetables, salad, dessert, coffee and tea, and a cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by Jim Loboy. Tickets are $25 and include dinner and 25 tickets, available at the school office, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, 330-259-0353. No tickets will be sold at the door. Winners do not need to be present.

FUNDRAISERS

Book Review and a Good Lunch Too fundraiser will take place April 22 at Golden Rye Grille, 10745 Main St., New Middletown, sponsored by the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Tickets are $20 and lunch is included. “Nine Women, One Dress” by Jane L. Rosen, will be reviewed by Regina Reese. All proceeds will benefit the Springfield Library Capital Campaign. Campbell Memorial High School Band is organizing a day trip to Seneca Allegany Casino, Salamanca, N.Y., on April 29. The trip will include Vegas-style gaming as well as several restaurants and cafes, complimentary beverage service and free coat check. Depart Campbell Memorial High School at 7 a.m.; arrive at Seneca Allegany Casino at 11; depart Seneca Allegany Casino at 5 p.m.; arrive at Campbell Memorial High School at 9. The cost is $50 per person, and includes $25 slot dollars bonus and $10 for food. Golden String Radio’s eighth annual beer, wine and chocolate taste will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. April 22 at St. Matthias Father Snock Center, 2800 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. All proceeds will benefit Golden String Radio, an online radio station run by adults with disabilities. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Rich Center for Autism is hosting its fourth annual Night at the Races April 22 at St. Michael Family Life Center, 350 N. Broad St., Canfield. Doors open at 6 p.m., and races begin at 6:45. The Rich Center is tuition-free and relies on private donations, grants and fundraising events to bridge the gap for expenses.

SALES

Cornersburg Baptist Church, 3898 Tippecanoe Road, Youngstown, will have its fifth annual Shop for Free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29. Items include clothing and household items. All are welcome.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. April specials continue the winter clearance on everything in the shop excluding wedding and prom dresses and yellow tickets, spring items. All clearance items will be $1. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Struthers Parkside Church, 110 Poland Ave., will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22. There will be a variety of items such as toys, books, household items, holiday decor and more. Lunch and baked goods will be available. There will be a basket raffle. Drawings will take place at the end of the sale. Winners do not need to be present. Proceeds from the sale will be used for church repairs and missions.

TRIPS

Alexander Hamilton/Idora Park Carousel trip planned for July 18 through 20. See where Hamilton lived, dueled, dined and died, and ride the Idora Park Carousel. This is a customized Breakaway tour and reservations will be for the Wellington Hotel on Seventh Avenue in New York City for two nights. Trumbull County Travel Club announces plans for its annual Spring Wine Crawl on April 18. Members and nonmembers must be 21 or older to participate. We will depart at 9 a.m. for Volant, Pa. Browse historic downtown before visiting the Knockin-Noggin Winery and Cider Mill. Lunch will be at the Timbercreek Brewery before visiting the Wendell August Forge.
