A water boil alert until further notice was issued Sunday for Hubbard residents who live in the Juniper Drive - Dogwood Drive - West Liberty -Buckeye areas off West Liberty Street between Bell Wick and Youngstown-Hubbard roads.

The boil alert was caused by a water main break on North Main Street, according to the Trumbull County 911 Center.

When water service has been restored, residents should continue to boil tap water used for cooking and drinking for at least one minute, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Pedestrian accident

Police are searching for a gold-colored Chevrolet Cruze in connection with it possibly striking a pedestrian about 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of 2508 Robbins Ave.

The extent of injuries to the victim, who was not transported to a hospital, is unknown, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Transition Fair, Forum

CANFIELD

The Transition Fair and Forum to showcase training programs, resources and community agencies that facilitate the transition of youth with special needs to community/employment will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. April 26 in the Joyce Brooks Center at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

The event includes more than 25 exhibitors on site from a wide range of programs as well as support for students with disabilities, families and educators.

Breakout sessions include Youngstown State University Disability Services and OhioMeansJobs. Students, families and educators are invited to learn their options, become informed and ask questions.

Registration makeup

BROOKFIELD

There will be a kindergarten registration makeup day for Brookfield/Masury children who will be age 5 by Aug. 1. Registration will take place at Brookfield Elementary School, 614 Bedford Road SE, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. May 15.

Requirements needed to enroll a child in kindergarten are: official birth certificate (raised seal), Social Security card, Ohio driver’s license or Ohio ID of parent or legal guardian, proof of custody if applicable (most recent court order with case number and judge’s signature), immunization records, two proofs of residency are required (must be something attached to the house with the parent’s/guardian’s name).

Parents and/or guardians must bring all items listed to register the child.
