“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): In celebration of Good Friday, several ministers in the Valley are having a free event, “Meet Me at the Cross,” at the Covelli Centre. Rev. Gary Frost will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the event and invite the community to get involved.

Next, Mary Ann Dickson of Women of His Vision will discuss the fifth annual Women’s Rally in the Valley” at the Victory Christian Center.

Lastly, Debbie Kempers and Scott Lewis will discuss the Leadership Columbiana Resource Fair and Zombie 5K walk/run to raise funds for Project Brightside in Columbiana.

“A Conversation with Dee” (Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WYTV-TV): Host Dee Crawford welcomes Jennifer Gray and Audrey Walker from Compass Family and Community Services. They will discuss all of the programs they offer as well as their upcoming fund raiser for Sojourner House.

Two free recitals on YSU campus

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music will present two free recitals next week in Bliss Recital Hall: tuba-euphonium studio at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and the chamber music ensembles at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The tuba-euphonium studio is directed by Brian Kiser and features students in his studio. Its program will include works by contemporary and classic composers such as Alec Wilder, G.F. Handel, Ludwig van Beethoven and Michael Forbes.

Directed by Joseph Kromholz, the chamber music ensembles feature both faculty and student performers who will perform music by Brahms, Beethoven and Mozart.
