US Marshals arrest Boardman man on assault charge

BOARDMAN — U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested a township man wanted for burglary and assault. 

Rodney Smallwood, 22, was arrested after he was found hiding under a bed at a Melrose Avenue residence, according to a police report. 

The charges stem from a March 25 incident on Clifton Drive. A woman reported Smallwood forcibly entered her home and assaulted her 14-year-old son. 

The victim and his friends told police the assault had to do with someone “talking smack” about Smallwood.
