Howland 2, Boardman 0

Michael Massucci pitched a complete game, striking out eight Boardman hitters and walking none. Zachary Campbell and Parker Hayden scored for Howland and Frank Rappach had an RBI double. Coleman Stauffer went 2-for-3 for Boardman.

South Range 16, Ursuline 5

The Raiders (3-2) erupted for 10 runs in the first two innings. Ethan Dominguez went 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs while Kelly Keenan went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in South Range’s five-inning win. Jack Bajerski went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Michael Cunningham went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Andrew Sabella singled with two RBIs. Andrew Sabella had two RBIs for Ursuline (2-4).

Poland 11, Harding 10

Dom Drummond doubled in the eighth and Pad O’Shaughnessy singled him in to score the go-ahead run. Drummond finished with two hits and drove in two runs for Warren Harding. Tony Chiaro scored twice and had two RBIs. Braden Olson had an RBI double.

Niles 7, Jefferson 0

Marco DeFalco pitched a no-hitter, striking out 15 Jefferson batters in seven innings while walking just three. DeFalco also went 2-for-4 with three runs scored with an RBI. Joseph Gallo also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

LaBrae 9, Brookfield 3

C. Stoneman went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI. M. Roberts, C. Clendenin and S. Wells each had two hits for the Vikings. T. Morris fanned nine batters in five innings. Brookfield tallied four hits. A. Wibert had a pair.

Champion 5, Girard 0

Drake Batcho pitched a no-hitter going all seven innings and striking out 13 in the win for Champion. Batcho and Aaron Williams had two hits at the plate. Kyle Forrest had two RBIs for the Golden Flashes.

Western Reserve 9-2, Salem 3-1

In the first game at Eastwood Field, Wyatt Larimar had three hit, scored twice and drove in two runs. J. DiCioccio had two hits and two RBIs. R, DemskyDom Velasquez and J. Ciccone each ahd two hits. For the Quakers, L. Wilms had three hit and D. Bickerton two. In the second game, Larimar and Demsky combined to toss a four-hitter. DiCioccio had three hits and Velasquez and J. Slaton drove in the runs. For the Quakers, Bickerton, singled and drove in the run.

Lisbon 11, Waterloo 1

T. Jones had two hits and scored once. T. Huth had Waterloo’s other hit. Lisbon tallied 13 hits, including three from D. Toot who also had two RBIs. L. Bell went 1-3 with four RBIs.

Columbiana 12, Mineral Ridge 0

St. Thomas Aquinas 9, West Branch 4

Zach Hawkins had three hits and scored twice for the Knights (5-2). J.P. DiMarzio hit a three-run homer in the first inning. For the Warriors (5-1), Chris Sams had two hits and scored a run. Seth Schroeder and T.J. DeShields each had a RBI single.

Mathews 7, Bristol 5

Anthony Oulton and Mitch Goff each picked up two hits for the Mustangs. Goff had two RBIs in the win. Brock Sloan had two hits for Bristol. Steven Burbach also had two hits including a double.

SOFTBALL

Ursuline 4, LaBrae 3

Winning pitcher Jordyn Kenneally (3-0) struck out 10 Vikings and walked three while scattering seven hits. Bethany Rios had two hits for the Irish (4-2). For the Vikings (0-2), M. Roberts’ two hits included a double. A. Geordan took the loss, striking out seven and walking four. She also doubled.

Poland 10, Warren Harding 2

Brooke Bobbey pitched all seven innings, allowing one hit and striking out nine for Poland. The Bulldogs racked up 15 hits, three of which came from Bobbey, who also had two RBIs. Amanda Wire, Ashley Wire and Devin Echle all had two hits for Poland (2-3).

Brookfield 22, Liberty 0

Gabby Shiska gave up one hit in the shutout. Brookfield tallied 21 hits from Laura Pesa, Kenzie Drapola, Bailey Drapola, TaeYana Ashley, Tori Sheehan and Chloe Willrich. K. Drapola and Ella Simcox each homered. Longo had a pair of hits for Liberty.

South Range 3, East Palestine 1

Caragyn Yanek struck out eight Bulldog hitters and walked none for South Range (4-0, 4-0 ITCL Red). The Raiders scored two runs via the suicide squeeze. Codi Taylor had two singles while Jen Rhodes had a double for East Palestine. Alisha Dean had two singles in the loss.

McDonald 15, Mineral Ridge 0

Rachel Ward tossed a five-inning perfect game for the Blue Devils. O. Sanson had three hits and three RBIs while Hannah Donkers drove in three runs with two hits. Megan Ward, Kendra Kelly and Cheyenne Titus also had two hits.

Columbiana 17, Sebring 0

Alyssa Tohm struck out 10 Sebring hitters in the five-inning game, issuing no walks in the Columbiana (5-0) win. Kennedy Fullum nearly hit for the cycle with a triple, double and single while Alexis Cross hit a home run. Emily Gosselin had three hits including a double, Taylor Ross had two hits including a triple and Marissa McDunna had three singles. Addison Brendlinger had two singles for Sebring (0-4).

Springfield 5, Jackson-Milton 2

Makenzy Cappoullez led Springfield’s offensive with a triple, double and one RBI. She also stole two bases and scored twice. Pitcher Josie Applegarth helped her own cause with two singles and one RBI. Cassie Bacon chipped in with a pair of singles. Molly Pontius, Lindsey Druschel and Nikki Bovo each hit a single and drove in one run.

United 4, Salem 3

Annie Paterson fanned 16 batters for United. She also helped herself out at the plate, belting a homerun and driving in three runs on a single. H. Anderson had a single and double for the Eagle. Bailee Thorn had the lone Quaker hit. Clara Janofa struck out five.

Mathews 12, Bristol 3

Winning pitcher Nicole Watts (2-0) struck out six and walked four. Mailtlyn Simon’s three hits included a triple and double and she drove in five runs for the Mustangs (5-0, 4-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Olivia Oulton’s two hits included a homer. She scored twice and drove in two runs. Bailey Hall’s tow hits included a double and she scored twice. Emily Durkach scored three runs and drove in two. For the Panthers (1-1, 1-1), Kendyl Switzer hit two doubles and Kayla Adams had two hits.

Strikeout Cancer schedule revised

This weekend’s Strikeout Cancer event sponsored by Ursuline’s softball team has revised its schedule due to Friday’s forecast. All games will be played at Candlelite Knolls in Bazetta Township. Friday at 4:30 p.m., Brunswick will play Lakeview and Lisbon will play Struthers. At 6 p.m., Ursuline will play Magnificat and St, Thomas Aquinas will play Edgewood. On Saturday at 11 a.m., the games are Champion vs. West Branch, Lakeview vs. Field, Girard vs. Brunswick and Springfield vs. Newton Falls. At 1 p.m., the games are Ursuline vs. West Branch, Champion vs. Brunswick, Field vs. Howland and Girard vs. St. Thomas Aquinas. At 3 p.m., the games are Edgewood vs. Newton Falls, Lakeview vs. Lisbon, Warren HArding vs. Springfield and Struthers vs. Magificat. At 5 p.m., the games are Ursuline vs. Struthers, Magnificat vs. Howland, Lisbon vs. Edgewood and Warren Harding vs. St. Thomas Aquinas. Sunday’s games begin at noon with Champion vs. Field and Springfield vs. Girard. At 2 p.m., Newton Falls will play Warren Harding. At 3:30 p.m., West Branch will play Howland.

The Bulldogs were led by Kincaid Mrakovich with three goals. Kyle Roarty and Tallon Price also scored. Michael Costello and Justin Blasko each had an assist.
