Poland Pour House employee injured in accident
Staff report
POLAND
A male employee was badly injured in an incident at the Pour House Bar & Grill on Center Road.
Western Reserve Joint Fire District firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to the scene about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a report.
The male employee, whose identity has not been released, reportedly suffered third-degree burns to parts of his upper body and had to be flown via medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
Reports conflicted Wednesday as to whether the employee was burned by water or grease.
Reports from fire department officials indicated he had been carrying a pot of grease that somehow spilled on him, while a restaurant manager told The Vindicator on Wednesday the victim actually had been burned by boiling water.
The manager declined to comment further, saying the victim’s family requested privacy at this time.
An update on the victim’s condition was not available late Wednesday.
