Standohar leads men at Hoosier event

The Youngstown State men’s golf team had three consistent scoring rounds at the two-day NYX Hoosier Invitational which concluded Sunday at the Indiana University Golf Course.
The Penguins finished with a three-round total of 907 at the 54-hole event.
YSU had rounds of 303, 301 and 303 at the IU Golf Course. Winning the event was Charlotte who defeated the host Hoosiers by 18 shots.
YSU was one of four Horizon League teams to compete in the tournament.
Evan Standohar was the Penguins’s top performer placing 39th with a 220. He carded rounds of 75, 75 and a career-low 70 on Sunday.
Standohar had four birdies on Sunday and finished with 10 for the tournament. His one-under par round featured 35 on the front nine and 35 on the back.
Jason McQuown was 56th with a 225 (74-74-77). He had four birdies in the tournament, with two in each round on Saturday. Jake Harrah was 67th with a 231 (77-77-77), Justin Hallapy was 70th with a 232 (78-75-79) and Thomas Lydic was 78th carding a 236 (77-78-81).
The Penguins will play on April 10-11 at the RMU Colonial Golf Classic.
