AUCTIONS

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph the Provider Cultural Society, will sponsor its annual basket auction April 23 at 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the auction starts at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of tickets, a bowl of haluski and a cookie.

St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor its 3rd quarter auction April 28. The event is for adults (21 and older). Doors open at 6 p.m. and the auction begins at 7. Tickets are $10 and include admission and a bidding paddle. There also will be 50-50 and lottery tree raffles. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. St. Joseph the Provider School will host its annual basket and gift auction with a buffet dinner April 21 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and buffet begins at 6:30, and includes baked Italian chicken, cavatelli and meatballs, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, roasted Idaho and sweet potatoes, Italian blend vegetables, salad, dessert, coffee and tea and cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by Jim Loboy. Tickets are $25 and include dinner and 25 tickets, available at the school office, 330-259-0353, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown. No tickets will be sold at the door. Winners do not need to be present.

Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will have its annual basket auction Saturday at St. Nicholas Great Hall, 764 Fifth Ave., Struthers. Admission is $5 and includes a sheet of raffle tickets, door prize entries and light refreshments. There also will be a special raffle table and grand prize raffle, cash hat and 50-50 raffle. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and drawings begin at 3. Items available include home decorations, holiday items, kids items, jewelry, kitchen, personal and more. CRAFT SHOWS

Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will host its 10th annual craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be 30 local crafters and vendors, an auction, ticket raffle, hot foods, sweet treats and face-painting. Admission is $2 or a donation of shampoo or bar soap. Canfield Lions Club will host its annual spring craft, antique and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive. There will be more than 100 vendors, basket auction, raffle and hot food available. Admission and parking are free. Lions serve the community by feeding the hungry, disaster relief, charitable donations and scholarships to Canfield High School. The primary focus is the eye program in the schools and at the county fair.

FESTIVALS

Simply Slavic Festival organizers are seeking authenic Slavic retail, crafts, fine arts and food vendors for its seventh annual Simply Slavic Festival from noon to 11 p.m. June 17 on Federal Plaza East, downtown Youngstown. There is space for 15 food vendors and 10 marketplace vendors. Openings will be filled according to timing of request and the need to maintain variety of options for the booths. The confirmation deadline for previous vendors is April 15. Applications from new vendors will be accepted after this date, but questions are welcome at any time. FUNDRAISERS

Campbell Memorial High School Band is organizing a day trip to Seneca Allegany Casino, Salamanca, NY, on April 29. The trip will include Vegas-style gaming as well as several restaurants and cafes, complimentary beverage service and free coat check. Depart Campbell Memorial High School at 7 p.m.; arrive at Seneca Allegany Casino at 11; depart Seneca Allegany Casino at 5 p.m.; arrive at Campbell Memorial High School at 9. The cost is $50 per person, and includes $25 slot dollars bonus and $10 for food. Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Cure Starts Now is hosting a fundraiser, Bowl for Brain Cancer, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Lanes, 7524 Market St. Adults cost $20 and children 10 and under, $10. NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Rich Center for Autism is hosting its fourth annual Night at the Races April 22 at St. Michael Family Life Center, 350 N. Broad St., Canfield. Tickets are available by contacting Mona Bozick at 330-941-1532 or mbozick@ysu.edu or online at www.richcenter.org. Tickets are $20 and include a pizza and appetizer buffet. Take your own beverage. Doors open at 6 p.m., and races begin at 6:45. The Rich Center is tuition-free and relies on private donations, grants and fundraising events to bridge the gap for expenses.

RAFFLES

Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., is hosting raffles for chances to win a 50-inch flat screen LED television and a $225 prepaid Visa gift card. Tickets are $5 and winners will be announced at the annual Cars are the Stars 3 benefit classic car show set for June 3 (rain date June 10). Proceeds will benefit the center. Austintown Night Out committee is hosting a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 20 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Vendor spaces are $10 each and the event will be outside regardless of the weather. Vendors are welcome to take canopies. Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will host a spring trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 3 and 4. May 4 is bargain day. Coffee, lunch and doughnuts will be available.

Braceville United Methodist Church, 589 Park Road, off state Route 82, will have its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday, dollar bag day. A bake sale and light lunch will be served Thursday.

Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St., Warren, will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Early birds are welcome at 8 a.m. for a $5 donation. Sale also will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with $2 per bag from noon to 2 p.m. Collectibles, electronics, clothing, household items, books, toys and tools will be available.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. April specials continue the winter clearance on everything in the shop excluding wedding and prom dresses and yellow tickets, spring items. All clearance items will be $1. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Poland Lions are hosting a treasures of the trunk sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at Poland Seminary High School stadium parking lot. Vendors are being sought for this one-day sale from the trunk of your car. Crafters, home goods, furniture, toys, specialty items and garage sale items are welcome. There are 100 spaces. Saxon Club Ladies Branch 22 is sponsoring a trash and treasure sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Saxon Club Ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. and will include hot dogs, sauerkraut, German sausage sandwiches, soft drinks, coffee and chicken dumpling soup. It will benefit the scholarship fund for YSU students. Donations are welcome, except clothing.

Struthers Parkside Church, 110 Poland Ave., will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22. There will be a variety of items such as toys, books, household items, holiday decor and more. Specialty items also will be on sale. Lunch and baked goods will be for sale. There will be a basket raffle. Drawings will take place at the end of the sale. Winners do not need to be present. Proceeds from the sale will be used for church repairs and missions.

Trinity United Methodist Church, 2427 Columbiana Road, New Springfield, will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Clothing, household items, trash and treasures will be for sale. Lunch will be available featuring homemade vegetable soup. Soup also will be for sale by the quart for carryout.

TRIPS

Trumbull County Travel Club announces plans for its annual Spring Wine Crawl on April 18. Members and nonmembers must be over 21 and older to participate. We will depart at 9 a.m. for Volant, Pa.
