Record-keeping event

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Mahoning Valley Safety Council will have an Occupational Safety and Health Administration record-keeping program from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12 at The Embassy, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road.

The session will examine OSHA record-keeping forms, general recording criteria and specific situations that must be recorded on OSHA Injury and Illness documents. Brian Zachetti from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will be speaking.

Internet survey

YOUNGSTOWN

Connect Ohio is asking residents, businesses, librarians, health-care facilities and other stakeholders within the Mahoning Valley to complain, compliment or explain just how well their internet is or is not working through a short survey.

Through the leadership of the Oak Hill Cooperative and the Western Reserve Port Authority, the Youngstown-Mahoning Broadband Initiative has been established and is participating in Connect Ohio’s “Connected Community Engagement Program (Connected). This project will assess the status of broadband access, adoption and use in the area.

‘Startup 101’ class

The Youngstown Business Incubator will have a “Startup 101” class with Jim Cossler, Huntington National Bank entrepreneur in residence, at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The class will help aspiring entrepreneurs with an idea find out if their idea is a good one. RSVP to ybimarketing@ybi.org.

Lunch with OEPA agency director

Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Director Craig Butler will be in town April 13 for a luncheon from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.

The EPA has been addressing the asset management of water, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, including regulations and funding for systems owned by counties and municipalities in the Mahoning Valley. Butler and the agency also are responsible for enforcing water-quality standards and help with funding for unsewered parts of Trumbull and Mahoning counties where water quality is impacted by septic systems.
