WhiteSpace, an integrated team of brand builders based in Akron, recently announced the promotion of two creative- team members: Annie Murray to copy director and Ashley Engelhardt to art director.

Murray’s recent promotion from copywriter to copy director has been a natural progression, as she excels at big-picture branding and possesses a knack for striking the right balance between industry-speak and genuine story- telling. Murray joined WhiteSpace in January 2013.

Engelhardt’s advancement from graphic designer to art director is a direct result of her strong dedication and hands-on approach to every project. As art director, Engelhardt will expand her extensive skills and experience to oversee design execution across all platforms for clients.

Engelhardt became a member of WhiteSpace through the acquisition of SmileyHanchulak Marketing Communications in 2012.

FINANCE

J.P. Marsh and Co., Certified Public Accountants, an Ohio-based firm specializing in accounting services, business analysis and financial guidance to businesses in the area, recently announced the hiring of Brian Wages, Certified Public Accountant, as senior tax manager and Anita Lancaster as professional Quickbooks adviser.

Wages has more than a decade of experience in public accounting. He is a graduate of Mount Union College, a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Lancaster has more than 20 years’ experience.

EYE CARE

Tyler Morton of Central One Optical was honored recently by Essilor’s Senior Vice-President Mike Nathe at Central One Optical. The award is given to the individual who best exemplifies Essilor core values and initiatives.

Essilor Laboratories is an international company employing 80,000 people worldwide in various divisions.

Morton, who is originally from Tampa, Fla., is a graduate of Youngstown State University. He began his career in the optical industry in early 2009 and is now director of Operations at Central One Optical.
