Annual train show set for next Sunday

SALEM

The Youngstown Model Railroad Association will sponsor its annual Spring Flea Market and Train Show next Sunday. The show will include more than 200 dealer tables of merchandise and equipment for all model railroad scales and interests. It will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Salem Center Plex, 1098 Ellsworth Ave. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 12 will be admitted for free. Salem Historical Society Inc. will again have its “Streetcar Decorated Trolley Bus” transporting show attendees to and from the parking lots to the show. Young Dems to meet

Trumbull County Young Democrats will have a meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Panera Bread, 5675 Youngstown-Warren Road.

The group consists of young people between age 18 and 36 who strive to elect Democratic candidates and encourage youth involvement in the Democratic Party.

Neighbors’ dispute leaves one shot in leg

YOUNGSTOWN

A dispute between neighbors in the 2100 block of Roy Street on the city’s West Side led to one being shot in the leg at about noon Saturday, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Police searched the area for the shooter, but the suspect was not found. A neighbor told police that there have been issues in the past regarding drugs.

State audit award

State Auditor Dave Yost announced that Columbiana County Career and Technology Center and Lisbon School District received state awards for their clean audit reports.
