CAMPBELL

District enrollment numbers have remained roughly constant compared with last school year, according to figures presented by Superintendent Matthew Bowen to the Campbell City Schools Board of Education Tuesday.

Last school year, the district enrolled 1,174 students. At last count, there were 1,146 students enrolled for the 2016-17 school year, though more students are continuing to enroll.

There were 1,251 students enrolled during the 2014-15 school year.

“Typically, we see numbers going down in Northeast Ohio where we’re seeing a lot of depopulation,” Bowen said. “It seems that we’re starting to level out.”

The district ended the month of August with a general-fund balance of $4,067,362 and a total $5,156,574 balance aggregated from all funds, according to a report presented by Treasurer Nora Montanez.
