Supreme Court indefinitely suspects law license of Girard man

The Ohio Supreme Court on Monday indefinitely suspended Timothy E. Bellew from practicing law.

According to the Trumbull County Bar Association, Bellew, who had been an Ohio attorney since 1997, was a solo practitioner with an office at 1 S. State St., Girard.

The bar association filed a complaint against him in 2014 based on his handling of a case involving a woman who sought help from Bellew with a divorce case in April 2013 and paid him $400.

Though Bellew promised he would file her divorce action, he did not, and she could not reach him by email or phone call.

On June 8, 2013, she emailed Bellew to inform him she had hired another attorney. Bellew “failed to cooperate with the investigator throughout the investigation.”

Bellew also did not respond to an Ohio Supreme Court decision in February that he cease and desist from practicing law in Ohio.
