Mantua resident wins $3.4M in Queen of Hearts game

Terry Vechery of Mantua won the $3.4 million jackpot Sunday in the Garrettsville Queen of Hearts when card No. 5 was turned over at Skylane Bowling showing the Queen of Hearts. The winner was not required to be present to win, but game officials notified Vechery of the good news.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, because of large crowds, the game’s rules were changed so the winners of the Queen of Hearts and the 50/50 did not need to be present to take home 90 percent of the jackpots.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle won more than $150,000. The remaining $150,000 from the 50/50 jackpot benefits Portage County libraries and the Garrettsville Area Chamber of Commerce.
