Garden Forum gives scholarship to Moore

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The 2016 Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown Area awarded Christian Moore a $1,000 scholarship on Sept. 3 at the floral show during the Canfield Fair. Moore, center, was presented the scholarship by Barbara Murray, left, scholarship chairman and third vice president, and JoAnn Vlacancich, Garden Forum president. He is a graduate of South Range High School and is in his third year at Knowlton School of Architecture at Ohio State University, where he is studying landscape architecture. He recently completed a two-month study of the National Parks Service provided by funding from OSU. He and five other students traveled to 19 states and 30 National Parks in the western United States and Canada studying landscape architecture. He also has worked at Parks Garden Center, was a Mill Creek Green Thumb volunteer and a founding horticulture adviser for Taft Grows Green community garden.
