Mount Union sets its 2016-17 lecture series

The University of Mount Union has announced the fall 2016-17 speakers for the LINC lecture series that takes place at noon on designated Tuesdays at the Hoover-Price Campus Center at the University of Mount Union.

LINC – lunch, information, networking and conversation – lectures provide a meal and discussions on relevant topics presented by faculty members as well as interaction between the Mount Union and Alliance communities.

Speakers for the 2016-17 LINC Series are as follows:

Tuesday: Jack DeSario, professor of political science, director of legal studies, will present, “Overview of 2016 Elections.”

Oct. 25: Gwen G. Schwartz, associate professor of English, will present, “Find Your Park and Notice What’s Next to It.”

Nov. 22: Megan Salvatore, director of clinical education, assistant professor of physical therapy, will present, “Reducing Fall Risk and Finding Your Balance.”

Jan. 24: Joel Evans, instructor of marketing, will present “Super Bowl Commercials: An American Cultural Phenomenon.”

Feb. 28: Shehla Arif, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, will present, “To Engineer is Human: Where is Half the Humankind?”

March 28: Lori Braa, assistant professor of sport business, and Nicole Johnson, associate professor of philosophy & religious studies, will present, “Aggression On and Off the Field of Play: A Survey of Student-Athletes’ Behavior and Perspectives.”

The cost to attend an individual event is $10; there is also a seasonal package for $50. A season pass guarantees a saved spot at each event.

Payment is accepted before the event by check via mail. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, but advance reservations are required.
