A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 6

Warrant: Police arrested Jeffrey Maldonado, 23, of Garwood Drive, Canfield, on a warrant from Mahoning County Area Court in Boardman.

Sept. 9

Warrant: Police arrested Jeffrey Maldonado, 23, of Garwood Drive on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant for failure to appear.

Sept.10

Warrant: Police arrested Garrett Wycoff, 19, of Edinburgh Drive on an Austintown warrant for failure to appear and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept. 16

Drug abuse: Police arrested James Cook, 25, of Mason Street, Niles, on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 12

Theft: A theft was reported at a home in the 1000 block of Eastwind Place.

Theft: Two concrete saws, a leaf blower and a power washer were stolen from Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Lottery tickets were stolen from Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cellphone was stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made on a debit card at a home in the 200 block of Parkgate Avenue.

Theft: Wheels off a trailer were stolen along with a Mercury Grand Marquis at Austintown Bounce, 4317 Kirk Road.

Theft: Police arrested Pamela Sneed, 53, of Market Street, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police accused her of placing numerous items in a large purse she carried into the Dollar General, 200 S. Raccoon Road, and departed without paying for them.

Theft: A woman was seen taking cosmetics from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 13

Fraud: A suspect took a grandparent’s credit card at the Seven-Seventeen Credit Union, 6460 Mahoning Ave.

Recovered property: Three rings and gold chains were recovered from the road in the 200 block of Aldrich Drive.

Recovered property: An Ohio license plate was recovered at Sav-A-Step, 4226 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: A Social Security number was used at a home in the 4000 block of Timberbrook Drive.

Drug offense: Police arrested Troy Tursack, 44, of East Woodland Avenue, Niles, on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, and Rhonda Cummings, 32, of Harvey Avenue Southeast, Warren, on a warrant for theft.

Sept.14

Warrant: Police arrested Aron Indoe, 24, of Cleveland on a warrant for theft.

Warrant: Police arrested Nicole Kingsley, 22, of Tyrell Street, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

Theft: A male suspect stole merchandise from Kmart. The merchandise was recovered, however, and no charges were filed.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Abigail Acosta, 28, of Oakwood Avenue, on the charge.

Sept. 15

Theft: More than $3,000 in checks were cashed, without the homeowner’s permission, were reported. The homeowner lives in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

Lost or stolen plates: Ohio temporary plates were lost or stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the1000 block of Idaho Road.

Criminal trespassing: Police arrested Ivan Lipscomb, 23, of Rush Circle, Boardman on a charge of criminal trespassing at Pilot Oil,1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Sept. 16

Drug offense: Police arrested John Hartman, 39, of Maureen Drive, Austintown, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, permitting drug abuse and drug abuse of heroin.

Fraud: A woman who lives in the 5000 block of Argonne Drive was defrauded out of $21,500.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was deliberately scratched at a home in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: Police arrested David Hodges, 41, homeless, on a theft charge. Police accuse him of taking of $199.74 in merchandise from Kmart.

Theft: A cellphone was stolen from Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A female suspect fled after a theft at Kmart.

Theft: A cash voucher was stolen at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 777 Hollywood Drive.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made to a male employee by co-workers at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.

Burglary: Police arrested Keyshawn Blalock,18, of New Road for the burglary of a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive. No items were stolen.

Burglary: Jewelry was taken from a home in the 3000 block of Orchard Hill Drive.

Criminal trespassing: Police issued a summons to Jordan Eaton, 20, of West Delason Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of criminal trespassing at at Austintown Fitch High school stadium, 4560 Fitch Blvd.

Sept.17

Theft: A male suspect entered vehicles at apartments in the 90 block of Compass West but fled when officers arrived.

Theft: There is a suspect in a theft at a home in the 4000 block of Viall Road.

Falsification: Police arrested Chase McKinney,19, homeless, on warrants for possession of drugs. He also is charged with possession of criminal tools and falsification.

Sept. 18

Theft: An unauthorized $1,300 charge was put on a debit card and there was an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a 2006 Saturn, reported at a home in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue. The vehicle was returned.

Breaking and entering: Entry was gained to a locked and fenced-in yard and a ladder was taken from a home in the 4000 block of East Rockwell Road.
