WARREN HOMECOMING Event schedule


Warren Homecoming, which starts today and runs through Monday, is the brainchild of Warren native Dennis Blank. The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County is the lead sponsor. It features dozens of events highlighting the city’s people, businesses and history and will bring back people who have left the city so they can reconnect with their hometown and the people who stayed. Events today and Saturday:

TODAY

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Famous local folks quiz, local History & Genealogy Center, second floor, Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW. Test your knowledge of the famous people who have called Warren their home.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Free, Warren yearbooks and books by local authors, main library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.

2 to 6 p.m.: Rendezvous in the Alley, David Grohl Alley, Warren Homecoming Weekend kickoff, giveaways, prizes, free hot dogs provided by the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, refreshments and free trolley rides to the Warren G. Harding High School football game.

4 to 10 p.m.: $7, Putt Putt Fun Center, 3937 Youngstown-Warren Road. “All you can play Putt Putt” all weekend long by mentioning Homecoming Weekend.

4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday: Rooftop reunion and after party, Franklin Street Parking Deck, eat, drink and meet mayor, commissioners, city officials.

4 to 8 p.m.: Rooftop Reunion adult-only party featuring music, cash bar, cigar bar, raffles and roundtrip transportation to and from the Harding football game. Tickets required.

5 to 10 p.m.: Harding vs. Ursuline High School football game, Mollenkopf Stadium.

5 p.m.: Warren JFK class of 1971 45th Reunion, Up A Creek Tavern, East Market Street.

9 p.m. to midnight: After-game party, Buena Vista Cafe, 1305 Buena Vista Ave. NE.

SATURDAY

9 a.m.: Warren Homecoming Parade, downtown Warren. Parade beings at Perkins Park and ends on Harmont Street.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Free, Famous local folks quiz, Local History & Genealogy Center, second floor, Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.

9 a.m.: Pink Ribbon Run/Walk for Cancer Awareness, Oncology Center, ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1353 E. Market St., Registration/check-in begins at 8 a.m.

9 a.m.: $20, Tony Napolet 5K Fun Run, JFK High School, 2550 Central Parkway SE, registration begins at 8 a.m., race starts at 9 a.m., kids race on the Eugene E. Rossi Memorial Track at 10:30 a.m.

10 a.m. to 10 p.m.: $7, Putt Putt Fun Center, 3937 Youngstown Road, “All you can play Putt Putt” all weekend by mentioning Homecoming Weekend.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Free, Garden District Trolley Tour, Garden District, tours leave from the parking lot McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 N. Park Ave., 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Taste of Warren, Courthouse Square, menus includes wedding soup, stuffed cabbage, pizza, sausage & peppers, burgers, chicken, fish, pirogis, gyros, pecan rolls and a cookie table, music in the gazebo.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Showcase of Homes, Courthouse Square, ride the trolley to various open houses for sale.

Noon to 5 p.m.: Old Warren Photo Exhibit, All American Cards and Comics.

2 to 6 p.m.: Corner Classic Car Show, Mocha House, 467 High St. NE.

3 to 5 p.m.: Free, Fall Kick-off to College, Eastern Gateway Community College, 239 Main Street SW, free caramel apples and apple cider.

5 to 10 p.m.: Free, Warren Homecoming Art Hop, downtown Warren, free rides on the Warren Trolley, artists, musicians, vendors, street performers, food, galleries, studios, and downtown businesses open to the public.

5 to 10 p.m.: “Home Again- Bringing Our Artists Home,” Trumbull Art Gallery, 158 N. Park Ave., exhibit will celebrate connection Valley artists working outside the region have with Warren.

5 to 10 p.m.: Art of Brian Starkey, The Shortcut Gallery, 141 W. Market St. Starkey has worked as an artist both locally and in New York City.

7 p.m.: JFK v. Steubenville Central Catholic football game, 7 p.m., Mollenkopf Stadium.

7 p.m.: $15, Music Meets Art, Chase Bank Building, 106 E. Market St., night of local art followed by a Dueling Pianos Performance and art of Barry Burkey, Dom Nicastro, Scott Roloff and DeShawn Scott. Tickets are limited and can be purchased via The Music Meets Art Facebook page.

8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday: Free, Speakeasy Jazz Party, Speakeasy Lounge, basement of the Best Western Park Hotel, 136 N. Park Ave., come in costume to celebrate the roaring ’20s, entertainment by Stan Miller.
