Man faces OVI, other charges after traffic stop

AUSTINTOWN — A township man faces charges after allegedly driving drunk with a 4-year-old child in the vehicle.

Anthony West, 26, of Westchester Drive, is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, and could face a child endangering charge, pending the results of an investigation. He also was cited for driving under suspension, driving left of center, failing to secure the child in a booster seat and for OVI.

West was arrested early Thursday after police stopped him on Mahoning Avenue at Edgehill Avenue after they observed him driving left of center, according to a police report.

West reportedly admitted that he had been drinking, failed a field-sobriety test, then registered a blood-alcohol concentration of .163. The state legal limit is .08.
