Holy Family Youth Ministry has just returned from its third annual mission trip to Cumberland, Ky.

The stay was during the week of July 17-22.

This year, the group consisted of youth from Holy Family, St. Luke, Christ the Good Shepherd and St. Charles. The group totaled 59, with 29 of the group representing Holy Family.

A few of their tasks included siding a house, replacing a bathroom floor, replacing a bathroom tub/shower unit, building and sealing two decks, replacing a drop ceiling with drywall, replacing old concrete outdoor steps with new ones, painting the nave of St. Stephen’s Church, weeding Pastor Mani George’s garden, picking up litter on the main street through town and helping with the monthly food giveaway at St. Stephen’s Church.

The youth represented their parishes, their families and themselves in a most positive way.

They worked hard, played hard and prayed hard. It was an inspirational experience for all.

The church would like to thank all of the donors who made this trip possible and to the adult chaperones, Ross Fabrizi, Justin Burk and Lori Kurta.
