Anthony D’Alesio, Nick Crawford and Payton Kostelic all won OAC Ohio Jr High School Wrestling state titles in 2016 at the Covelli Center in March.

All three have also earned a spot on the NHSCA All American Team as well.

Anthony D’Alesio, Nick Crawford, Tyler Stein and David Rhineheart all qualified for the the 2016 USA Wrestling-Ohio National Team for Grecco and Freestyle Wrestling.

The boys had to win or place in multiple high level wrestling tournaments throughout the state and country to achieve this honor. They also had the opportunity to wrestle for different teams from Ohio and other states throughout the year. The boys had to compete in tournaments that placed them in high school brackets, even though D’Alesio and Crawford were middle school wrestlers at that time.

The National Wrestling Championships took place at the University of North Dakota in Fargo, from July 15-23.

Prior to the National Championship, the wrestlers had to attend a very intense camp from July 10-14 at St. Edwards in Cleveland along with all the other qualified wrestlers from the USA Ohio team. There were multiple coaches from the Team USA, as well as different Ohio college coaches there to prep and train the boys to get ready for the intense competition they were going to face in Fargo. Each state had a USA team represented in Fargo, so they were going to compete against some of the best wrestlers in the country.

The tournament was broadcast on Flo Wrestling, which added to the intensity of the wrestling as people from across the country were able to watch the matches.
