Senior Nick Digiacomo took third overall out of 117 runners on Sept. 10 at The Dover Invitational at Dover City Park.
The Spartans finished second out of nine schools, improving their varsity season mark to 30-6 overall.
Aiding in Boardman’s score was freshman Mitchell Dunham in eighth place. He was followed by senior Nathaniel Ams in 14th place. Senior Matt Maroni and junior Jimmy Lagese finished 29th and 30th overall to round out the scoring for Boardman.
“Today was a true test,” said Boardman Head Coach John Phillips, “Several guys were missing and the temperature at race time was over 90 degrees with oppressive humidity, but our guys hung tough and had a solid day as a team.”
This week’s BW-3 ‘Runner of the Week’ Award went to junior Jason Fabian for his effort at Dover and West Branch in the previous week.
