The residents at Beeghly Oaks Rehabilitation Center have been working throughout the week of Aug. 22-26 to complete a puzzle first and win a prize.
Residents were divided into a red team, a black team and a pink team. All three teams had team-colored hats, balloons and cheerleaders to cheer them on. During the week, the residents had one hour each day to get as much of the puzzle completed as possible.
“The first team that finishes is going to go out for a night on the town. We are going to do an awards presentation for the first, second and third prize,” said Maureen McCarty, Activities Directory at Beeghly Oaks.
The 300-piece puzzles created the opportunity for residents to work together as a team to accomplish a goal. Participating in the puzzle contest allowed the residents to spend quality time with each other and with the faculty at Beeghly Oaks while doing something fun and competitive. The three teams received the same puzzle to create an equal chance of winning for every team.
The puzzles were all completed by the end of the week the black team in first place, the red team in second and the pink team in third. All of the teams received a certificate showing their participation and completion of the puzzles.
