ValleyCare Health’s parent eyes sponsors

The parent company of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio says it is exploring a variety of options with financial sponsors.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems on Monday said the exploration with its financial advisers is in a preliminary stage, and there is “no time line established for this review.”
“There can be no certainty that the exploration will result in any kind of transaction,” a release reads.
Earlier this month, the company said it would sell off 12 hospitals that it has yet to name.
CHS is the parent company of Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, Northside Medical Center and Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
USW ratifies pact with Republic Steel
CANTON
The United Steelworkers on Monday said its members ratified a new, three-year contract with Canton-based Republic Steel that will set the terms and conditions of employment for about 1,000 hourly production, maintenance, office and technical workers at the company’s five U.S. locations through its Aug. 16, 2019, expiration.
Republic Steel has locations in Lorain, Canton and Massillon in Ohio; Lackawanna, N.Y.; and Gary, Ind.
