AUCTIONS

Immaculate Heart of Mary social concerns committee will have a quarter auction fundraiser Oct. 22 in the IHM Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd,, Austintown. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the auction will start at 7. Tickets are $10 per person and include an auction paddle, homemade desserts, coffee, pop and water. Bid on a variety of gift baskets and gift cards for adults and kids. Take quarters, snacks and beverages and help raise money for the community charities the committee supports. St. Rose Church quarter auction will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27 in Rosetta Hall, 48 E. Main St., Girard. Tickets are $5 each, available only in advance. There will be tables of eight. Featured will be gift cards, holiday crafts and gifts, baked goods, jewelry and more. Bidding paddles will be provided. West Mahoning County Lions Club will host a quarter auction Nov. 5 at Deerfield Town Hall, 1450 Cleveland-East Liverpool Road (state Route 14), Deerfield. Paddles are $5 each. BINGO/CARD PARTIES

St. Patrick Altar Guild will host a card-bingo party and salad buffet from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at St. Patrick Social Hall, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $5 per person at the door. There is a handicap-accessible ramp and elevator on the south side of the church and a secured parking lot.

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church is sponsoring bingo Oct. 2 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Doors open at noon, and games begin at 2 p.m. The format is the same as Monday and Wednesday bingos.

BOOK SALES

Friends of the Community Library of the Shenango Valley will host a used book sale from Oct. 5 through 8 in the library basement, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa. The sale includes books, magazines, puzzles and audiovisual material. All of the proceeds are donated to the library. CRAFT SHOWS

American Association of University Women is sponsoring a craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren. FESTIVALS

Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., is sponsoring its 76th annual Bazaar and Fall Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 21 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22. Admission is free. Items available include trash and treasure, books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, housewares, furniture, toys, handcrafted gifts, decorations, baked goods, coleslaw, peanut brittle and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Operation Blessing, Canfield Care Net, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the church pre-school and other community needs.

FUNDRAISERS

First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., will host a feast of salads, fashion show and basket auction Oct. 22. The doors will open at 10 a.m. Donations of auction items are welcome. East Palestine Rotary Club will sponsor its 11th annual community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at East Palestine Park. The event is open to individuals, nonprofit organizations, clubs, churches, youth and civic groups. Commercial and craft vendors are welcome. Admission and parking are free. Outdoor spaces (about 20-by-20 feet) are available for $10. Take tables and displays. Setup will begin at 7 a.m., and tear down will be at 4 p.m. The club will sell a variety of food, and there also will be a basket auction and 50-50 raffle. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for entire family. September sales will include teens through adult clothing at $1 per item. Children’s clothing through size 10 is 70 percent off. Not included in the sale are orange tickets, party and wedding attire.

TRIPS

Altar and Rosary Society of St. Stephen of Hungary Church, Holy Apostle Parish of Youngstown, is sponsoring a one-day pilgrimage Sunday to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, Ohio.
