Michael S. Lytle of Canfield recently announced that American Portfolios Financial Services Inc. — an independent broker/dealer serving affiliated financial advisors nationwide — with which Lytle is affiliated, recently earned the distinction of being named the 2016 Broker/Dealer of the Year by Investment Advisor magazine. Lytle affiliated with APFS in 2007 to support the growing needs of his practice in providing comprehensive financial services and investment advice within and outside his community.

AERONAUTICS

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges announced it will honor Pittsburgh-based nonprofit Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics with a national School of Excellence Award for its commitment to the expectations and rigors of ACCSC accreditation, as well as for maintaining high levels of achievement among students. PIA will be honored at ACCSC’s annual conference Wednesday at the Omni San Diego in San Diego.

MEDICAL

Western Reserve Hospital recently welcomed five new residency students to its graduate medical education program. This year’s class includes Mallory Ucchino, a family medicine resident of Youngstown. Western Reserve Hospital features an osteopathic graduate medical education program and enables physicians to grow in their chosen area of medicine. The program is affiliated with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
