First Presbyterian Church to install new pastor

The Rev. Rebecca “Becky” Anne Kahnt is the new pastor at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. She will be installed during a ceremony at 5 p.m. Sunday.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry with a minors in psychology and theology at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., and received a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, N.J.

She was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in August of 2006.

The Rev. Mrs. Kahnt has a certificate in youth and theology from the Institute of Youth Ministry of Princeton Theological Seminary and a certificate in spiritual direction from the Pneuma Institute in Pittsburgh. She is currently working on a doctorate of ministry in Reformed Christian Spirituality through Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

She is a member of Spiritual Directors International.

Mrs. Kahnt served as director of youth ministry at the West Trenton Presbyterian Church in West Trenton, N.J., from September 2001 until June 2006; associate pastor for youth and their families at Morrisville Presbyterian Church in Morrisville, Pa., from July 2006 until March 2009; associate pastor at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church in Lansdale, Pa., from March 2009 until February 2013; and pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg, N.C., from February 2013 until August 2016.

She and her husband, David, have three children.
