Cardinal Mooney students enjoy back-to-school bash

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Cardinal Mooney High school board marketing committee sponsored a back-to-school bash at Cassese’s MVR Restaurant, 410 N. Walnut St., Youngstown, on Aug. 28. More than 400 students, staff and families joined in a day of feasting, fellowship and fundraising to kick off the academic year. The bash was preceded by a corn hole tournament, which raised more than $1,200. Gino Divincenzo and Joe Cunningham, Cardinal Mooney alumni, donated their cash prizes to the Carmine L. Cassese Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations also were collected for the Lauren Bowman Fund, a former student at St. Christine School, who died recently.
