Auditions are set for sci-fi movie

WARREN

Auditions will take place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Warren Community Amphitheater, on Mahoning Avenue, for “Midnight Massacre,” a locally made science- fiction film.

“Midnight Massacre” is the working title of the film, a modern-era retelling of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.” It is being directed by Travis Bowen of Howland, and edited by Emmy Award winner Holly Sechrist.

The roles available are small speaking roles, featured extras, and extras. No experience is necessary. There is no upfront pay, but food and beverages are provided on set. The cast features Linda Harrison, who played Nova in the original “Planet of the Apes” film, Don Pedro Colley (“Beneath the Planet of the Apes”) and Byron Cherry (“The Dukes of Hazzard”). Warren native Matthew T. Metzler, who appeared in “Maze Runner: Scorch Trials,” is also in the cast.

“Traficant: The Congressman of Crimetown” will be screened Oct. 1 at 4 and 7 p.m. and Oct. 2 at noon and 3 p.m. at the Youngstown Playhouse, Glenwood Avenue.
