Johnny Appleseed Festival set for Saturday, Sunday

LISBON

The 49th Annual Johnny Appleseed Festival will be Saturday and Sunday in downtown Lisbon. Admission is free and parking is available through the town.

The festival will begin with a 5K run at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the grand parade at 11 a.m. The event will feature live entertainment all day on both days, amusement rides, art and photography contests, a quilt show, pet parade, free pedal tractor contest for the children and more.

There also will be spinning demonstrations, wood carvers and paint demonstrations.

More than 30 crafters and food vendors will have booths.

Food will include apple delights, including dumplings, apple fritters, apple ice cream, cider and apples.

Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
