FULL MOON NIGHT HIKE

When: Friday, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

What: Walk the trails to the east end of the preserve to see the rising moon.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free

Details: Bring a flashlight, insect repellent and water. Registration required. Best for age 10 to adult.

FLORAL DRAWING WORKSHOP

What: Marianne Hilke encourages you to use your creative skills and journey into the stages of floral drawing using colored pencils during this three-day workshop.

Details: Covers materials, their usage, and how to put it all together in a floral project. Valuable drawing techniques and problem-solving will be explored. Supply list will be provided upon registration.

HOW TO CREATE A RAIN GARDEN

When: Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

What: Learn how a rain garden could fit into your landscape.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free

Details: Rain gardens keep water on site, out of storm-water systems and allow water to soak back into the ground and filter pollutants with the help of deep-rooted native plants. They recharge the groundwater supply, provide beautiful landscaping and provide valuable habitat. Registration required by Friday.
