Pipeline group gives $10K to Poland trustees to hire student resource officer

POLAND — Columbia Midstream, an affiliate of the natural-gas company Columbia Pipeline Group Inc., presented a $10,000 check to township trustees tonight for a student resource officer for the Poland school district.

The resource officer program places an officer in the schools to create and maintain a safe learning environment. The officer helps to keep the peace as well as provide emotional, academic and mental support as counselors and educators for students.
