Political satirist activist and comedian W. Kamau Bell speaks at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at Stambaugh Auditorium on Fifth Avenue as part of Youngstown State University Centofanti Symposium.
Tickets are free, but required for admission. Tickets are available at the auditorium’s box office and at www.stambaughauditorium.com. Tickets are limited to four per person. Bell is best known for his critically acclaimed FX Comedy series “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.”
Boil advsory ends
YOUNGSTOWN
The city lifted a boil-water advisory Monday for portions of the West Side that had a waterline failure a few days prior.
The line has been repaired after a Thursday break on South Meridian Road between Bears Den Road and Freemont Avenue.
Tests have been done, and no contaminants were found. The water is considered to be safe, said Dan Blakely, an engineering assistant at the water department.
Coffee, conversation
YOUNGSTOWN
Councilwoman Anita Davis, 6th ward, would like to extend an invitation to “Coffee and Conversation” from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Flambeau’s Dinner Club, 2308 Market St.
Davis will provide complimentary coffee and doughnuts while discussing local street repaving and liquor permit renewals in the 6th Ward. There will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
